if you use a static website like troffhtml, you might want to use the query string for some linked webapp, even if the user navigates away from the landing page.
this simple javascript can do the work to keep the qs in the url across pages, as long as you add it to every page!
to test it, simply add anything to your qs, such as manually or by going here, and navigate to another page.
ps: going many times on the "going here" link above will add "anything" to the query string that many times which can eventually bug out this page! but for the purpose of this script it will be better to keep it simple like that, since no troff page should query string into itself like this, plus it will be a harmless bug which no real user will reach anyway!
