manifesto — the new blog.

blogs died. long live the manifesto.

a manifesto differs from a blog post: it evolves. it updates. it stays alive.

here's what makes a good manifesto:

• git compatible — version control for ideas
• wiki-like editing — anyone can improve it
• static comments, or none — link to discussion elsewhere
• responsive — works on mobile, embeds media properly
• offline-first — pwa by default, web notifications over email
• easy history navigation — like wikipedia's edit history
• keyword-based — not chronological posts
• analogous to encyclopedias, not news
• frequently updated — even stories grow and change
• decentralized — no single point of failure

this page itself experiments with the format. it started around 2014 as a camera checklist, then evolved into this.

the name "mani" comes from "manifesto" — shortened, easier to type, harder to forget.
